Church celebrates

MELROSE Parish Church has celebrated 100 years since its re-dedication.

The day began with Jim Letham’s trumpet fanfare, Trimontium, performed by trumpeters from Hawick High School.

Eildon Singers featured with the organ of Jim Marshall, tympani, trumpets and the congregation in the Vaughan Williams’s Old Hundredth.

The visiting preacher, was the Very Reverend G. Macmillan of St Giles, Edinburgh.

A buffet lunch followed in the church hall from Elsa Barker’s team.
