Chance of a lifetime for design students

Representatives of global fashion brand, Old Navy, have shortlisted four Heriot-Watt University students, who are now in with a chance of taking part in the company's prestigious Design Internship Programme.

The fashion brand approached HWU School of Textiles and Design in Galashiels in their hunt for a student who would win an all-expenses-paid internship in San Francisco later this year.

Justin Newlin, senior creative recruiter and Erin Herrara, director of recruiting at Old Navy viewed the portfolios of 26 students, in response to a specific design brief.

The four students shortlisted from HWU are Beth Nellis, Fiona Betram, Robyn Lang and Kimberley Caddis.

Head of School of Textiles and Design, Prof. Fiona Waldron, said: “This is – quite literally - a career and life-changing chance for one of our students to work in the USA alongside Old Navy’s design team.”
