Fresh from a Celtic Connections performance and a live session with BBC Radio 3 this week, Canadian/Scottish/Irish band the Outside Track visit the Buccleuch Centre, Langholm next Friday.

The five-piece, who blend traditional and modern music from their homelands, are preparing to release their third album this month, having enjoyed sell-out tours of Canada, the US, and Germany, where they toured with successful Irish group Altan.

A whirlwind start to 2012 has seen the Outside Track pick up a Live Ireland award for best instrumental/vocal group, while lead singer Noral Rendell won vocalist of the year.

The line-up includes Norah, who hails from Vancouver, while Ailie Robertson (harp) is based in Edinburgh, Fiona Black (accordion) is from the Highland village of Evanton, guitarist Cillian Ó’Dálaigh is from Limerick and fiddler Mairi Rankin from Cape Breton in Canada.

Tickets are priced at £12 (£10 concession) for the 7.30pm gig. Phone 013873 81196 to book.
