Call to join zumbathon in aid of survivors of violence and abuse
The event will take place on Saturday, December 6, from 10am to noon, in the Corn Exchange, Melrose.
The event follows 16 Days of Action’s successful One Billion Rising event in 2013, where participants ‘rose’ against the global harms faced by women and girls.

Hide AdThis year’s event aims to bring like-minded people together to show their support for those affected by violence, for no other reason than because they are women or girls.
As organisers also hope to also raise funds for breast cancer, participants are asked to “bring a friend and bring a bra (or two)”.
Tickets are £10 for the two hours of zumba, with all proceeds going to BWA and SBRCC to enable them to continue the vital support services in the Borders.
There will also be a raffle, with water and fruit supplied.
So, come along, show your support, and bring someone who has never experienced the collective energy of zumba. Also, bring as many bras as you can. Action Against Breast Cancer collection bins will be available – and note on the bag how many bras you have donated.
Tickets for the event are available from all FitBorders instructors. For more information, call Denise on 07713 357450 or Andrea on 07769 234 795, or email: [email protected].
