VEGETABLE and flower numbers have been hit by the weather this summer, but there will still be more than 600 entries in the produce and industrial sections’ hall at Upper Kalewater Show, Pennymuir, on Saturday.

Organisers are expecting about 250 sheep to compete at the traditional hill show.

Willie Sandilands from Ancrum will choose the interbreed sheep winner.

Undressed classes for Lairg Cheviots have been introduced to encourage exhibitors.

There’s a dog show and terrier racing, a hog roast at 5pm (£3) and after-show dance from 9pm (£3). For children, the show includes a young handlers competition, sports and a bouncy castle.
