AN IRISHMAN has taken the top prize at Teviothead sheepdog trial.
James McCaffray with Cap from Country Donegal won the James Pow Memorial Trophy with 84 points at Whitchesters on Sunday when 44 dogs ran.
A spokesperson for the event said: “There was a great turnout. The weather and sheep behaved and the hospitality from Watson Dogfoods ensured everyone enjoyed themselves. Thanks are due to the sponsors, Royal Bank and Eric and Liz Watson, and host Forrest Irving and all who helped on the day.”
The judge was Fiona McMillan from Thornhill. Heriot’s Julie Hill came second with Mac on 83 points and John Allan from Yarrow was third with Trim on 79 points.
