To celebrate the opening of Green Square, Kelso, on March 20, the company is offering one lucky child the chance to win an iPad.

Added to that, their school would receive £250 to put towards environmental projects.

To win this amazing prize, Green Square Kelso, the UK’s dedicated Renewable Energy Centre, is inviting children aged seven to 16 to design a futuristic eco-friendly house.

The houses can be designed in whatever way the children see fit, whether it is on the computer, painted, drawn or made with pipe cleaners and milk bottle tops. It doesn’t matter, although the more imaginative, the better.

The house designs should also include notes explaining why they are environmentally friendly.

Being green and eco-friendly is a really hot topic at the moment and it is important that children research and understand what being green actually means for the environment.

Although this competition is a fun artistic project, it is also educational and is aimed at helping children find out about environmental issues that could affect them in the future.

To enter, children should send their house design to: Green Square Design a House of the Future Competition, 3 The Square, Kelso, Roxburghshire, TD5 7HQ by Wednesday, March 11.

Each entry must have the following information written on the back: child’s name, age, parent’s contact details and school name.

Six finalists will be selected by Green Square and invited to attend the official launch of the Kelso store as special guests on March 20.

Good Luck!

Terms & Conditions: The finalists will be invited to attend the grand opening of Green Square at 4pm on Friday, March 20 at 3 The Square, Kelso, Roxburghshire, TD5 7HQ.

The £250 to be awarded to the school must be spent on an environmental project.
