TALENTed young singer Christopher Nairne features as soloist for this month’s Yetholm Sinfonia concert.
The programme opens with an early symphony written by William Boyce, a contemporary of Handel.
Then, rather unusually, a short one-man comic opera by the Italian composer Cimarosa, entitled Il Maestro di Cappella, or in English, The Music Master, features Christopher, a baritone soloist at the Edinburgh Military Tattoo for the Homecoming in 2009.
Christopher will also sing a dramatic Mozart concert aria, and the evening ends with Haydn’s Symphony no. 86 in D, full of melody and wit.
The concert takes place this Saturday in Kelso Old Parish Church at 7.30pm.
Tickets (£7, Friends of the orchestra £5, students free) and are on sale in Kelso at Red Shed Tickets on Roxburgh Street, and Hector Innes Photography on the Market Square. For more details, phone 01573 420279.
