Harestanes Visitor Centre is showcasing one of the region’s most enduring and popular artists with an exhibition of new work by painter Alan Turner.

Winter’s Light features the Jedburgh artist’s favourite theme of snow on landscape, in particular the hills and valleys of the nearby Cheviots.

Alan Turner has taken inspiration from the Borders landscape for more than 40 years and has continued to paint since retiring 10 years ago from managing the Canongate Gallery in his home town.

Harestanes Centre manager Michael Scott said: “Alan Turner’s recent paintings capture the stillness and beauty of the Borders’ wild places in winter.”

Winter’s Light can be seen in the centre’s Gallery until October 4.
