Biking boost

AN INNERLEITHEN mountain biking tourism operator has won funding of up to £30,000 from Scottish Enterprise (SE).

Go Where’s Andy McKenna and the Edinburgh-based mountain biking coaching company Dirt School are joining forces to offer week-long mountain biking skills safaris. Their idea has won an SE Tourism Innovation Fund award, netting the entrepreneurs one-to-one professional business support and match-funding.

Mr McKenna said: “The award is hugely important firstly because we have had recognition from an expert panel of judges, which is really reaffirming, and secondly the financial input and expertise will allow us to deliver a world class and very unique mountain biking holiday that so far Scotland has never seen before.”
