IT IS never too old to start a new career, as writer Sylvia Dow proves.

The 73-year-old brings her first play – A Beginning, A Middle and An End – to the Eastgate Theatre on Tuesday, September 11, with Gregscale Theatre.

Commissioned with the support of Creative Scotland, Glasgow University and Fenton Arts Trust and produced in association with Stellar Quines, the story revolves around Evelyn and Ade as they consider their lives and what is in front of them.

Co-artistic director of Greyscale, Selma Dimitrijevic, first encountered Sylvia’s writing while teaching on the masters playwrighting programme at Glasgow University and the two have been working together since.

A Beginning, A Middle and An End starts at 7.30pm and tickets, from 01721 725777, cost £14.
