Bassment are one step away from performing in London’s O2 arena after making it through the latest stage of the Live and Unsigned competition.
The teenage quartet from Kelso made it through the Scottish regional final in March and now compete in the Scottish and north-east final at Newcastle’s Tyne Theatre on Saturday, May 12.
If they succeed in Newcastle they will travel to London where prizes include £10,000 cash and a series of top festival slots.
Event director of Live and Unsigned, Chris Grayston, said: “When you consider the amount of entries we had this year it’s a big deal to have got to this stage, and be just one performance away from fulfilling the dream of performing at the O2, one of the best music venues in the world.”
In total, over 10,000 acts entered the national competition.
On the back of the appearance in Glasgow for the Scottish regional final, Bassment will play The Big Stooshie Festival tomorrow and have gained a main stage slot at Bfest in Wick in August.
