EDNAM Primary School has issued an appeal for old photographs, such as this one of Ednam pupils, and other memorabilia for inclusion in an exhibition later this year to mark its hundredth birthday.
As well as actual artefacts, staff and pupils are keen to hear any humourous stories from former pupils which can also be used as part of the November exhibition.
Headteacher Anne Welsh told us: “We plan to involve the children in researching the life of the school and the local community around the time the school was built in 1911.
“Their work will involve all areas of the curriculum and will culminate in a day of celebration and presentation of their work in November this year. The idea is to gather old photos, artefacts, memories, playground games etc., and to display some of these in school and that’s where we’re hoping the public can help.
“We are hopeful we can gather lots of memories and stories from former pupils and teachers.”
