Community councillors and competition judges Joy Snape and Gill Cooper were impressed by all the entries, but decided that Anne had created not only a beautiful floral display, but also used a very unusual planter to enhance a community space – even incorporating her scarecrows for Earlston Civic Week.

For her efforts, Anne received a £50 voucher for Milestone Garden Centre in Newtown St Boswells.
