Allotment holders roll out the welcome mat at Tweedbank

Tweedbank allotment holders held an open day in order for members of the public to see how things had developed since the space was created about four years ago.

The 10 plots and five sets of raised beds are well used, and there were competitions for ‘best produce’ and ‘best fruit and vegetables’.

However, it was also about sharing items grown on the plots – there was courgette cake, raspberry muffins and sponge cake filled with strawberry jam for people to taste.
