They might be creepy, kooky, mysterious and spooky, as the theme tune goes, but The Addams Family is also set to prove a smash hit in Kelso.
KAOS Musical Theatre Company’s production of musical comedy, The Addams Family, is on at the Tait Hall in Kelso, from March 17-21.
KAOS is excited to be performing the Borders’ premiere of what is undoubtedly one of the funniest and deliciously unpolitically-correct shows.
The plot has a grown-up Wednesday Addams falling in love with Lucas Beineke from Ohio. Lucas’ parents have been invited to dinner to meet Wednesday and her parents, Gomez and Morticia.
Along with Uncle Fester, Grandma, little brother Pugsley and Lurch, the butler, the Addams Family tries its hardest, with hilarious results, to appear normal to their guests.
However, when you add a chorus of long-dead family ancestors, it all adds to a fun-filled evening of fabulous music, songs and dancing.
The same production team behind last year’s wonderful Wizard of Oz is back again and working with a dedicated cast of 30, including some fresh new faces. KAOS is also incredibly lucky to have had all their costumes designed and made solely by one lady, Rosemary MacDonald, and which are all available to hire after the show.
Director Pooee Pitman describes the show as a sheer joy, and added: “The music and lyrics are just fabulous and even if you’ve never heard of The Addams Family before you will be so pleased you came to see this fantastic show.”
Tickets are available from Hector Innes, photographer, The Square, Kelso, or online at KAOS-theatre.co.uk.
