A7 closed south of Heriot

The A7 remains closed this morning, south of Heriot, due to it being blocked by a jack-knifed lorry.

The incident happened earlier this morning.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “Police in the Borders were called following a road traffic collision on the A7, two miles south of Heriot.

“The incident happened at around 6.40am on Wednesday, November 23, when a HGV vehicle jack-knifed on the road.

“The driver did not sustain any injuries.

“The road is fully closed in both directions while the vehicle is recovered. Traffic is diverted southbound from Tynehead to the B6367. Northbound diversion are in place through Galashiels on to the A68.

“The public is thanked for their patience at this time.

“Officers would also like to remind drivers to cut their speed when driving in cold conditions and adjust their driving accordingly.”
