A year does not a crisis make

The Met Office has stated that 2014 is on track to be the warmest year since 1659.

Climate-change zealots are delirious with joy, wind turbine developers are ecstatic, politicians with fingers in the renewables gravy train are celebrating and climate-change scientists are drinking to another round of lucrative research grants.

The renewables propaganda machines are gearing up for further press releases and articles in the press.

I hate to put a damper on their joy, but someone in the Met Office warned that the weather record of one individual year cannot be attributed to man-made global warming and that this does not necessarily say anything about long- term climate change which needs to be looked at over a timescale of several decades.

I wonder if that Met Office employee is still in a job?
