JANE Hogarth celebrated her 50th birthday in style by completing a 60-mile walk which raised more than £3,000 for charity.
The Kelso-born insurance broker said it was “the best birthday ever” when she arrived at Lindisfarne in Northumberland on August 10, having walked the entire length of St Cuthbert’s Way from Melrose.
She undertook the challenge to raise money for the 500 Mile charity which supports amputees and other disabled people in Malawi and Zambia. The charity’s particular focus is the delivery and development of prosthetic limbs.
Total donations included £500 from the charitable foundation of her employer, Towergate.
