1 SCOTS in Hawick

Soldiers from the The Royal Scots Borderers, 1st Battalion, The Royal Regiment of Scotland (1 SCOTS) will conduct a parade in their traditional recruiting area of Hawick at 11.30AM on Saturday (May 31).

Around 200 soldiers from the Battalion’s B and C Comapnies, the Pipes and Drums, the Colour Party and regimental mascot, Cruachan, will all be taking part in the parade.

The event will be one in a series of parades being done to mark the battalion’s move from Edinburgh to Northern Ireland later this summer, as part of British Army restructuring and rebasing plans.

The Hawick parade will form up and step off at 1130am, turning right out of the car park over the bridge and heading left onto the High Street.

The salute will be taken outside the Town Hall. The parade will then continue down the High Street, turning left onto North Bridge Street, then right onto Union Street, prior to re-joining the High Street, to return in the opposite direction.
