Printer flags up missing men

A PUBLISHER has appealed for photographs from Selkirk’s Common Riding past.

Print shop owner James Rutherford is putting together a book on part of the Common Riding history, but is desperately in need of photographs of six former Royal Burgh Standard Bearers from both before and after the First World War.

Mr Rutherford – who runs Bordersprint in Scott’s Place – told TheSouthern: “I am producing a book researched and compiled by the late Jack Harper and urgently need the photographs to complete the work.”

The missing men are:

James M. Pollack (1919); J. Louden Stark (1923); J.H. Dobson (1924); David Wright jnr (1925); R. Gordon Stark (1927) and G. Roberts (1929).

Mr Harper compiled a number of booklets on aspects of the Common Riding.
