Fifty years of memories accompanied Pipe Major Allan Walker as he led Jedburgh Royal British Legion Pipe Band up the High Street on Callant’s Festival Day this week in 1993.
Allan was the only member of the original band playing in its golden jubilee year, and had performed with the band in all but two Jethart Callant’s Festivals. He became pipe major in 1950 when he took over from his father.
He was pictured in July 1993 with bass drummer Brian Scott, having played in Market Place after piping the cavalcade out to Redeswire.
