GLENTRESS’S new high ropes adventure park became the unlikely romantic setting for an international engagement last week.
For Aberdeenshire man Ross Fraser dropped down on one knee to propose to his Australian girlfriend Melinda Fairclough at Go Ape in the Peeblesshire forest last Monday.
Ross said: “I wanted to be a bit different and knew it was something she would never have expected. Melinda and I have many outdoor hobbies and both always wanted to give Go Ape a go, so I saw this as the perfect opportunity to pop the question!”
The adrenalin junkies (picture, top of page) met while Ross was on a working holiday in Australia and they conducted a long-distance relationship before Melinda moved to Scotland to join Ross two years ago.
The couple, both 25 plan to tie the knot next summer.
