Borders health chief appointed chief executive of NHS Lanarkshire

Mr Campbell joined NHS Borders in January 2010.

Commenting on his five years at the health board, Calum said; “I am exceptionally proud of the high-quality health care services that we have in the Borders. I have been privileged to work with dedicated teams who continually strive to deliver excellence in person-centred care, and would like to thank everyone for their continual commitment to NHS Borders which has resulted in us being one of the best performing health boards in Scotland.

“I now look forward to the challenges that lie ahead in my new role in Lanarkshire.”

John Raine, NHS Borders Chairman, said: “The fact that Borders is one of the best performing health boards in Scotland reflects the excellence of Calum’s leadership and he will be greatly missed. To be appointed chief executive of one of the largest health boards in Scotland is an accolade and testimony to his abilities and substantial experience of health service management.”
