'Feckless' attempts at repairing Selkirk wall slammed

Bringing up the long-running saga of flooding on Dunsdale Road, where rainwater from the banking above is eroding the wall and pooling on the road below, community councillor Ian King said: “It all seems to remain exactly the same month after month, they promise to do something about it but nothing ever happens. I'm getting a bit sick and tired of the fecklessness of the council’s ability to get anything done over there.”

Councilor Gordon Edgar said: “The riparian owners [of the wall] have been contacted and have been informed of their responsibility."

He added work had begun on assessing the collapsed drain which is causing the flooding.
