Deserved award for Anna
Another Borders winner in the Scottish Care Awards was Anna Maciaga, manager of Grange Hall Care Home, near Earlston, who won the emerging talent award.
Grange Hall director James Mowbray said: “Given the past year’s events with Covid, she’s done a marvellous job in steadying the ship after the matron of 21 years left suddenly, and keeping the care home completely covid-free from the beginning and boosting our reputation and relationships with local communities.”
Anna, who is still to receive her award, said: “I couldn’t believe it … it means a lot, especially after the past year, which brought so many challenges.
"However, it’s really for the whole of my team, who all do a brilliant job.”
