Rosemary set to share her business success

A Borders businesswoman will deliver a keynote speech at the Scottish Government’s annual business in the parliament event tomorrow.

Rosemary Eribé, who started her knitwear company from her living room after graduating from the Scottish College of Textiles in Galashiels, will address more than 200 of Scotland’s leading business people and politicians from all political parties.

This year’s two-day conference will focus on the theme of ‘opportunities for growth – Scottish business priorities for 2020’.

Originally from Edinburgh but a Borders resident for more than 30 years, Rosemary was specially chosen to tell her inspiring story of growing Eribé Knitwear from humble beginnings into a global player in designer knitwear.

She was raising her family of four, alongside developing luxury knitted products for the export markets when she set up her firm in 1986.

Eribé specialises in colourful knitwear and is now one of Europe’s largest hand-knitting companies with over 200 stockists in 17 markets.

“The Eribé story is about change, innovation and the importance of working together at a local and global level. I look forward to sharing my thoughts and ideas at the parliament” said Rosemary.

Her vast knowledge has been garnered from working with premium knitwear factories in Scotland and beyond, leading knitting machine companies and developing private label styles for the world’s leading fashion brands such as Pringle and Margaret Howell.

Her firm will be celebrating its 30th anniversary next year.

As recognition for her entrepreneurial flair, Rosemary Eribé was asked to be an ambassador for Woman’s Enterprise Scotland
earlier this year.
