The event, hosted by the chamber’s interim chief executive officer, Emily McGowan, will be held on Zoom from 10am-11am on Friday, March 5.

Participants will be given the chance to network, gain local contacts and promote their business or organisation to others, but it will also be an opportunity to hear how others are handling the challenges laid down by the Covid-19 pandemic, and there will be experts on hand to pass on advice.

Ms McGowan told us: “The aim of the event is to provide a platform for all business owners or employees, located in and around Duns, to come together as a local community, to chat and network with each other.

"We hope there will also be people on the call who have a passion for the local area and a desire to do what they can to help with the challenges you face at this time.

“Following the session, we will be posting on our social media channels, issuing a special e-Blast newsletter and sending a media release to the local press, highlighting the diversity of your local community and the unique benefits of the area for locals and visitors alike.

"We want to play our part in promoting your businesses, organisations and the area in as many ways as we can.

“We appreciate working or running a business and dealing with remote learning etc. can make it difficult to take part in calls, but we encourage you to register today and join us if you can – even if this means you just listen in the background to what others have to say.

"It’s the coming together that’s important at a time when we’re cut off from those around us.”

Participation is free, so anyone interested is urged to share the invitation to all within their network.
