Hermione’s back at Paxton

Paxton House and Estate has announced the appointment of new general manager Hermione Hoffmann, who takes over the responsibility of the business from Duns land agent FBR Seed.

Hermione, who worked for the Paxton Trust as its educational officer for a number of years before moving on to take positions in the education department of Scottish Borders Council and with Museums and Galleries Edinburgh.

She became a trustee of the Paxton Trust in 2019, but has stepped down on taking on this appointment.

Hermione, who says she has a deep-seated love for Paxton House, said: “This is my dream job to take the Paxton story forward with the exciting new business plan recently formulated by the trustees.”

She added: “It comes at just the right time as we move out of the pandemic lockdowns and look for ways of developing the experiences around our house and our collections and the wonderful grounds for the benefit of the public both locally and much further afield.”

Ian Marrian, chairman of the trust, said: “The trustees were unanimous in their support for the appointment of Hermione as the full-time general manager of the charity.

“She brings skills and an enthusiasm for the business that are just right at a time as we launch our new plans to further enhance the visitor experience to the house and the gardens and grounds.”
