Business expert comes to Borders

International sale expert Jackie Wade will stop off in Earlston to help local firms’ fine tune their sales techniques during the last Borders Business Masterclass.

Taking place in Earlston High School on September 24, Jackie will use her 30-year global sales career to explore why businesses aren’t securing sales. She said: “I’ll explore the barriers to effective selling, what holds us back and what we can do about it.”

Organised by Business Gateway Scottish Borders, the European Funded masterclass tour has already provided hundreds of new and established businesses with access to free advice from some of the country’s leading experts in marketing, social media, and motivation.

It has also provided attendees with the opportunity to network; helping them expand their contacts book and ‘sell’ what they do to potential customers.

Jackie said: “People should come along to the event to be inspired and connect with others, whether it be potential customers, introducers or friends. Networking is a powerful and easy way to make meaningful connections for life. I’m here as a result of a networking event in Newcastle over 10 years ago, a journey which has introduced me to scores of wonderful businesses and friends in Scotland and beyond.”

Phil McCreadie, Business Gateway Manager, said: “Securing sales, regardless of what sector you operate in, is a business’s lifeblood. What Jackie aims to do is arm attendees with new ways of thinking that will make selling easier and a joy to do. Having started selling in her grandma’s shop in Dublin aged just six, she has gone on to build an illustrious career successfully selling to multi-million pound industries as well as small, niche businesses. Her expertise will prove invaluable to all those in attendance.”
