A festive mix for everyone at Bowhill

Starting on December 9 is the first of three wreath-making workshops, where participants can get creative and fashion their own traditional wreath to take home and impress their guests.

Afterwards, everyone taking part can enjoy a creamy cappuccino and mince pies. A further two workshops will take place on December 11 and December 16 from 10am–noon. Tickets are priced at £18 with materials and refreshments included.

On December 13, Bowhill’s Christmas Fair takes place. It promises to be a fabulous day with a range of stalls selling wonderful local gifts and crafts, free soft play for the little ones, decoration-making workshops for the whole family, and mulled wine and delicious Christmas treats to enjoy. Santa Claus will also be making a special appearance and chatting to all the boys and girls of the Borders about their Christmas wishes. Entry to the Fair is free with only a small charge for Santa’s grotto and festivities take place between midday and 4.30pm.

On the same date at 3pm, Clydebuilt Puppet Theatre comes to Bowhill with its production Jack and Billy. The group will perform two classic children’s tales – Jack and the Beanstalk and The Three Billy Goats Gruff. The original stories are re-enacted using beautiful cloth puppets and by turning everyday objects such as baskets and boxes into a house or even a castle. The show is suitable for children aged three years and over and lasts approximately one hour.

There are a limited number of tickets still available at a cost of £5 per person. As the special day draws ever closer, Bowhill will also offer the opportunity to create a natural Christmas garland to adorn your mantelpiece.

Guests will also be rewarded for their hard work with a tea or coffee and a festive treat. The workshop will take place on December 18 from 10am-noon.
