TORINO, the Galashiels band which won the recent String Jam Club’s songwriter of the year contest, are to headline at the club next Saturday, September 24.
Also on the bill at the Salmon Inn, Galashiels, will be Cieran House, judged to have given the outstanding performance of the evening.
Citing their main influences as Radiohead, Turin Brakes and Birds of Tokyo, Torino have appeared on the same stages as Frightened Rabbit and Dawn of the Replicants, and have built up a strong fanbase.
Vocalist Paul Blackwood, pictured below, told us: “Music is so important to us because it’s what is in our hearts, each one of us lives and breathes Torino. Not one of us could imagine not playing for the rest of our lives.”
Tickets for the session in the Salmon Inn, Galashiels (doors open 7.15pm), are £7, available from the venue.
