It’s a children’s theatre show about a rabbit who never misses a trick and a magician who sometimes forgets to say the magic word.

And if you’re looking for a little bit of magic this October break, Magic Sho could be just what you need.

Shona Reppe, aka Magic Sho, has had a busy 12 months, with performances of The Curious Scrapbook of Josephine Bean in Adelaide and Perth, Australia, at London’s Southbank Centre, Dublin Theatre Festival and Baboro International Festival for Children.

Potato Needs a Bath went to the Calgary and Vancouver International Children’s Festivals, whilst Cinderella won an award in Poland.

Back in Scotland, Shona Reppe and Andy Manley created a hit at the Edinburgh Fringe 2014 with Huff.

Part of the Made in Scotland showcase, Huff won a Herald Angel and the Critics’ Award for Theatre for the Best Production for Children and Young People.

This summer Shona has created Magic Sho which opened at Carnegie Hall in Dunfermline on September 5 and is touring throughout Scotland. Shona said:

“I have always used a few magic tricks in my shows, but in making this show I found myself more interested in the magicians themselves so with the guidance of Magician Kevin Mcmahon of Edinburgh’s Magicfest we went to the Blackpool Magic Convention which is nothing short of amazing!

“Surrounded by magic tricks and magicians of every kind it was a real eye opener. I wanted the show to reflect this world of obsession and illusion (and luckily for me a lot of sparkle).

“It has been a challenge to learn magic alongside creating a new show – but fun and maybe I’ll even join the Magic Circle one day!”

Magic Sho is suitable for children of 5-8 years.

Showing at Tower Mill, Hawick, on Sunday October 11 at 3pm. Tickets cost £6, or £4.50 for concessions. To book tickets drop into the VisitScotland box office or call 01450 360688.
