Sinfonia features Handel

The Yetholm Sinfonia’s second concert of its ninth season, will be given in Kelso Old Parish Church at 7.30pm on Saturday, May 3 and will feature a major work by Handel – Ode for the Birthday of Queen Anne. The three vocal soloists will include the talented young Italian Marco Di Chio, and the choir will be the excellent Abbey Consort. The evening will start with Beethoven’s dramatic overture Prometheus and continue with an engaging symphony by the almost unknown Spanish composer Arriaga, who was known as ‘the Spanish Mozart’.

Tickets are £8 (students free) from Hector Innes Photography, Kelso, or call 01573 420 279.
