Sessions make sound sense

MUSICIANS will descend on the town next weekend for the annual Selkirk Sessions traditional music festival.

Sessions will be found in the Town Arms, The Fleece lounge, O’Malley’s, Heatherlie House Hotel, the Conservative Club and Selkirk Bowling Club.

The festival, which runs Friday to Sunday, also includes workshops and competitions which place on the Saturday.

Chairman Davie Scott told The Wee Paper: “Over the years Selkirk Sessions has attracted a loyal following and there will be some weel kent faces in the town next week.

“The festival is renowned for its friendliness and the welcome that is always accorded to visitors. It’s not just for musicians but for anyone who wants to just come along, listen and enjoy. The format of pub-based sessions is tried and tested and proven to be extremely popular. There is camping at The Haugh for visitors, with a free mini bus.”

Full details can be viewed on posters sited around the town.
