Selkirk-based folk star Kieran Halpin is pulling out his guitar so young rugby players can pull on their boots.
Irishman Halpin will play at Bonchester Bridge tomorrow in a fundraising concert for a rugby tour.
Organiser of the gig, Henry Douglas, said: “The concert will be staged in the Laidlaw Hall in Bonchester Bridge to raise money for a Jed-Forest youth rugby tour to Clermont in France. Calum Brown and Colin Yourston are taking 37 players from Hawick and Jedburgh.
“This will be Halpin’s first appearance in Bonchester Bridge, but the village hall has become a regular venue for some of the biggest names in local folk music.”
The gig starts at 7.30pm and tickets are available from Mr Douglas by phoning 01450 860255.
