Fiddle player Patsy Reid, right, will perform at the Eastgate Theatre tonight, playing from her new album, The Brightest Path.
Playing with Breabach, Kathryn Tickell and VAMM (to name just a few) has made Patsy one of the most admired musicians in the UK.
Now she takes centre stage – accompanied by an equally accomplished band – to perform songs and tunes from her new album.
This, her first solo recording since the acclaimed Bridging The Gap, and features newly recovered traditional Scottish melodies from the Atholl Collection, along with self-penned and contemporary material that demonstrates her ability to virtually sing through her instrument.
Patsy told us: “I’m now in a position where I can call the musical shots – and not feel guilty about it!”
Patsy Reid plays at the eastgate tonight (April 10), at 7.30pm.
Prior to the concert, Patsy will lead a one hour workshop focusing on learning traditional Scottish melodies by ear (sheet music available), as well as useful elements of fiddle and violin technique.
Other melody instruments are welcome.
The workshop cost £5 and is for all ages.
