Paxton House has unveiled the line-up for its annual chamber music festival, which will take place from July 18-27.
There will be a Russian thread running throughout the programme, and new to this year will be Paxton’s first percussionists – O’Duo.
Opening the 2014 festival programme will be an audience favourite, Scottish pianist Alasdair Beatson, who returns with two leading chamber music contemporaries, Adrian Brendel (cello) and Katharine Gowers (violin).
Adrian and Alasdair introduce the Russian thread in this year’s festival , with Rachmaninov’s Cello Sonata. Katharine Gowers plays Janacek’s Violin Sonata, and together they will perform Dvorak’s Dumky Trio.
