flamenco-jazz guitar virtuoso and composer Eduardo Niebla will kick off an extensive UK tour at Eastgate Theatre in Peebles on January 15.

The day after, at Celtic Connections in Glasgow, the Spaniard will launch his 23rd album, inspired by his tours to India, the Middle East, his adopted Yorkshire homeland, his childhood and his mother.

Featured on the album with Eduardo, right, are his brother Salvador (percussion), Jyotsna Srikanth (Indian violin), Dharmesh Parmar (tabla), Ken Marley (double bass), Sara Gilford (cello) and the choirs of Aysgarth and Queen Mary’s Schools.

“This is intricate, passionate flamenco fused with a myriad of Indian and Arabic colours and a Gypsy-jazz edge,” said one reviewer.

Tickets for the Eastgate gig are priced at £14 (£12 concessions) and it starts at 7.30pm. Phone 01721 725777 for further details.
