Hawick Music Club and the music department of Hawick High School combine to present Students in Concert on Saturday, January 29.

The Tower Mill in the Heart of Hawick will host the evening, which follows the high school’s production of A Christmas Carol.

Jim Letham, head of music at Hawick High School, said: “This is excellent opportunity for our students to experience the atmosphere of performing in the Tower Mill’s auditorium, especially to a full house.

Jim has chosen several “outstanding” pupils who will perform a wide range of music on a variety of instruments including, strings, percussion, brass, piano, as well as singing.

Gordon Macdonald of Hawick Music Club said: “They are excellent musicians, full of verve, brimming over with youthful vitality and are a credit to the town.

“Last year their inspiring concert was enjoyed by all and was a sell-out so early booking is advisable, as seats are limited.”

Tickets for the concert which begins at 7.30pm are priced at £8, £2 for students. They can be bought from www.thebooth.co.uk, telephone 01450 360688 or the VisitScotland box office in the Tower Mill, and, if available, on the evening of the concert.
