Real ale enthusiasts will be raising a glass – or two – to the Auld Cross Keys in Denholm next month.

The pub owners, Dave Bennett and Karen Massey, have joined forces with micro-breweries in the Borders and Northumberland to line up a bevvy of the UK’s top ales for a three-day beer festival at the pub from March 2 to 4.

More than 40 brews will be at the festival, with favourites from the Northumberland Brewery, the Tempest Brewery in Kelso and the Scottish Borders Brewery near Ancrum and others from as far away as Lincoln, Birmingham and Norwich.

Dave said: “We think the festival will be one of the biggest staged locally and we have organised entertainment so it should be a great event.” .
