LORI Watson leads her Rule of Three band to the Eastgate Theatre next Thursday, August 23.

Formed in 2004, the group include Birgham fiddler and singer Lori, brother Innes on guitars and Highlander John Somerville on accordion.

A spokesman for the trio said: “Their combination of Lowland and Highland styles combined with varied European and popular influences result in a sound brimming with a personality which adds to the traditional melodies and themes absolutely central to their
music.”

The band has toured extensively throughout Europe and Nova Scotia in Canada, playing folk clubs, arts centres, theatres and festival stages.

Lori and Innes were at Cambridge Folk Festival last month – Lori taking children’s workshops in music, song and dance and Innes with his acclaimed band the Treacherous Orchestra.

Lori has picked up numerous awards, while Innes won the Instrumentalist of the Year at the Scots Trad Music Awards
in 2011.

The gig begins at 7.30pm and tickets, available from 01721 725777, are priced at £12.
