For the past 12 years, Kelso Art Group has held its annual Art Exhibition in support of a local charity, and this year’s chosen recipient is Alzheimer Scotland.
The group hopes to raise enough money, through sales and donations, to help the charity to continue its local support for people affected by Alzheimers.
More than 30 local artists will be exhibiting their work in Yetholm Youth Hall, commencing with an opening night on Friday, October 5 from 7-9pm, where visitors can enjoy a glass of wine while looking at the artists’ work. Thereafter, the exhibition is open daily from 10am-5pm until Friday.
Alzheimer Scotland helps people with dementia, their carers and their families, by providing personalised services designed around each individual, such as day care and home support.
Through their network of dementia advisors and services, the charity also provides advice and information. It also has a network of branches which work locally to raise awareness and to improve the position of people with dementia and their carers.
Alzheimer Scotland runs services in the Borders at Kelso Hospital, including training and carer support groups.
