The Jedburgh Brooke Supporters group is holding a charity fundraising Christmas Craft Fair in Lanton Village Hall on December 9, from 11am-4pm.
The Brooke is an international animal welfare organisation dedicated to improving the lives of working horses, donkeys and mules in some of the world’s poorest communities, through the alleviation of existing suffering and the development of equine welfare practices and facilities to prevent and reduce suffering in the future.
It provides treatment, training and programmes on animal health and wellbeing, operating across Africa, Asia and Latin America.
The Brooke delivers practical programmes and provides support, advice, funding and infrastructure to its global network of employees, partners and supporters to make their vision a reality.
Sue Martin, of the Jedburgh based Les Amis d’Onno, said: “The Borders is a great community of horse owners and horse lovers.
“I ask you to spare a thought this Christmas for working equines overseas.
“Christmas is the perfect time to have fun and raise funds as an extra special gift to help working horses, donkeys and mules in some of the world’s poorest communities.”
