Frieda Oxenham opened her new exhibition at Tweeddale Museum and Gallery as part of the Peebles Arts Festival.
Entitled 52 Journals, Frieda tasked herself to create one small quilt a week throughout 2012.
This exhibition shows all 52 results and documents the inspiration behind them – details of gravestones, doors, maps and even an old hinge.
Frieda, who lives in West Linton, is an internationally-acknowledged quilter and has exhibited extensively in Europe, Russia and the USA.
Unsurprisingly, 52 Journals has already elicited the comments “inspiring”, “stunning” and “amazing”, so make sure you visit the Tweeddale Museum and Gallery, Chambers Institution, High Street, Peebles, where Frieda is frequently on hand to discuss her creations.
The exhibition is open Monday-Friday 10.30am-12.30pm and 1-4pm, Saturdays 9.30 am-12.30pm, with extra opening for the Peebles Arts Festival on Saturday (August 30) from 1-4pm, and Sunday (August 31) from 1-4pm.
