Creative Scotland has named Peebles as the most creative place in Scotland for its size, with an award of £100,000.
Caroline Adam, general manager of the Eastgate Theatre, pictured, said: “This is great news for Peebles.
“The award will help create some unique events over the course of the year.
“Peebles’ Creative Place action plan runs through the year from March to December, with each month having a theme that focuses on a particular area of arts activity – for example one month music, another literature, a third craft and visual art.
“The programme will build on what already happens in the town, develop new creative partnerships, and commission new work from a range of artists and creative people.”
