Over the course of his career, Gordon Buchanan has travelled the world to face up to some of its most dangerous animals.
And on Friday, October 10, he’ll add the Eastgate Theatre in Peebles to that list ... although danger is not on the menu.
Buchanan, the highly acclaimed wildlife cameraman and presenter of The Bear Family and Me and The Polar Bear Family And Me will host an evening of exciting personal recollections on a Scotland and Ireland tour this Autumn.
Kicking off his tour at the Eastgate, Buchanan delves into his 20 years’ experience of travelling the globe to talk about his world of weird, wild and wonderful wildlife as well as places on the planet that few others have visited.
Buchanan has a reputation for relishing dangerous and tough assignments and will talk of his adventures during challenging expeditions and enthralling wildlife experiences, alongside his own film footage and brilliant images of all that he has come to face.
Buchanan has travelled the planet – from South America, Asia, Africa, Papua New Guinea, Russia and Alaska – and this is a show for any wildlife or travel enthusiast who wants to enjoy the spell-binding stories of the natural world from a man who has experienced danger face-to-face.
Scottish-born Buchanan has worked on a plethora of nature and wildlife programmes as both a presenter and cameraman, receiving a Royal Television Award for the The Bear Family And Me.
Nex year he will be seen on screen in a new BBC wildlife series.
The evening will also include a Q&A session.
