Kelsae stone, the £40,000 Sainsbury’s Public Art competition winner, will be unveiled in Kelso Square on Monday (July 14).

To mark the start of the town’s Civic Week, Kelso Laddie 2014 Ross Henderson will reveal the finished 20-ton artwork by sculptor Jake Harvey. Ross will also lead a rendition of Kelsae Bonnie Kelsae, while the pipe band will also perform.

The Kelsae stone was installed at Kelso Square in February this year and since then Jake, who lives at Maxton, has encouraged each of the local communities in and around Kelso to nominate a representative to handwrite their place name which was then enlarged to allow the artist to engrave it into the flanks of the stone.

The event starts at 3.30pm in the square.
