Margaret Hanson gives a rendition of 'Flower o' Scotland' much to the delight og Britain's Got Talent' winner Jai McDowell during his visit to Oakfield Day Centre, Galashiels.

Britain’s Got Talent winner Jai McDowall will play Galashiels as part of a Scottish tour.

Singer-songwriter Jai, who won the fifth series of the TV talent show in 2011, will perform at the Volunteer Hall on March 22. It’s the first headline tour for Jai, who is also choosing to support Scotland’s children’s charity Aberlour as he travels around the country.

Jai, 27, is donating ÂŁ1 from every ticket sold to the organisation, which runs a respite service for children with disabilities in the Collydean area of Glenrothes.

Ayrshire-born Jai said: “I have chosen to support Aberlour as it gives me the chance to continue with the work I did as a support worker, before I went on Britain’s Got Talent. Aberlour gives young people and their parents the support they need to live happy lives. I am very happy to support this brilliant charity.”

Jai won the hearts of the nation when he performed Anthem from Chess. Performing Josh Groban’s To Where You Are in the final, Jai was praised by Simon Cowell for his fabulous voice, before being crowned the winner.

Since the show finished, Jai has released an album and performed for Her Majesty the Queen at the Royal Variety Performance, and was even invited to sing with Josh Groban on stage in Glasgow. He is now looking forward to his single release and new album launch.

Tickets for the Galashiels show are on sale now, starting at ÂŁ13 each. Visit www.aberlour.org.uk
