Forward with Scotland’s past – Battlefield Band come to Langholm

The skies of Langholm will be filled by the sounds of battle on Saturday, November 24, as the Battlefield Band plays its trademark Scottish traditional music from the “past, present and future”.

“A bedrock of talent for more than four decades, Battlefield Band continue to lead the way for Scotland with their inspired fusion of ancient and modern traditional music and song,” says their website.

“Their new album line-up finds them fresh and invigorated, and illustrates that they are among the most relevant contemporary composers and interpreters of Celtic music today.

“Ever-evolving, the new line-up includes young multi-instrumentalist Ewen Henderson, and has been received with great acclaim on their US, Canadian and UK tours, as the group move on to a new, exciting period in their musical development.”

The band features Sean O’Donnell on guitar, the twin fiddles of Alasdair White and Ewan Henderson, and Mike Katz on whistles, pipes and bouzouki.

Tickets cost £14 (£12 concessions). To book, call 013873 81196 or visit www.buccleuchcentre.com
